Alright, so I'm probably going to do this more than once a week so just deal with it buuuuut Joel's movie pick of the week is "Stranger than Fiction". I would recommend leaving the safety of your computer chair and renting this phenomenal movie immediately! This film deals quite a bit with mortality and knowing one's own eminent future in a quirky and highly creative why. I don't want to say more with out giving the movie away other than saying this is not your normal Will Ferrell movie although he does throw in a dynamite performance. Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson also deliver noteworthy performances in this film from the director of "Finding Neverland".

Hunting and fishing

This past weekend we went camping at Lake Amador which is between Stockton and Sacramento. This place was put on the earth for one thing: fishing. We took the canoe and had a great time. We had perfect weather, good food (biscuits and gravy, hot dogs and lots and lots of smores) and the best sleep that Adam and I have ever had on a camping trip thanks to the cushy queen sized air mattress that we got (yes, the kids still slept on the ground).
We even managed to bring home a nice sized trout that we grilled on Monday. We did not catch the fish on our own, but some nice semi-pro fisherman let us have our pick of his catch for the day. I had the opportunity to show Mallory how to clean a fish. I do not remember it being that gross.
I am casting my net out for a new career opportunity. I am flying to LA on Thursday to interview with another retailer for a district management position. I have also had 3 interviews with a European company that has a regional office in SFO. We'll see what happens. Being back in the stores has been exhausting to say the least, but it has been fun too. If anyone has a suggestion for a company I should check out, let me know!

What really bugs us...

Look what we found in a recent bag of "pre-washed" lettuce! Our advice is to wash to lettuce anyway, and you, too, may have a surprise awaiting. This is probably the biggest moth we have ever seen. He just wouldn't tear with the rest of the lettuce!
Thanks, Jeni, for establishing the Springalings blog so we can bring you exciting information from our kitchen to yours!
